Since the expansion of our Garden Shop and retail greenhouse in 2008, we have been able to stock a wide variety of supplies for your garden.
Fertilizers
Espoma Fertilizers - We have carried and highly recommended the Espoma line of Organic Plant 
Foods for over 30 years. These plant fertilizers, with long lasting natural organics which break down slowly for steady, continuous feeding are Holly-tone, Plant-tone, Rose-tone, Garden-tone, Bulb-tone, Flower-tone and Tree-tone.
Coast of Maine - Organic products for healthy plants. Using locally-sourced marine residuals, Coast of Maine hand crafts compost-based products that are biologically diverse and rich in the nutrients that plants need to thrive.
Jonathan Green Lawn Care Products include many organic fertilizers and very low environmental impact products to control weeds, insects and turf disease. Their lawn care programs feed both the turf and the soil and produce a beautiful thick lawn without sacrificing the environment.
Neptune’s Harvest - Neptune’s Harvest is a division of Ocean Crest Seafoods, Inc., established as a wholesale fish and seafood company. Our fertilizer is made with fresh caught North Atlantic fish right on the docks of Gloucester, MA. With many Fish and Seaweed formulations, this brand is exceptional for your garden and benefits our environment.
We also carry carry Osmocote, Jack’s Fertilizers, Miracle Gro Products and Bonide products.
Soils and Soil Amendments
For outdoor planting, we carry the following bagged soils and amendments:
Fafard Ultra Outdoor Planting Mix - with a high amount of organic matter, this planting mix contains peat moss and aged softwood bark to provide structure to clay or sandy soils, perfect for the cape!
Fafard Premium Natural and Organic Compost Blend - For use in organic gardening, this blend of composted seaweed and shrimp is an excellent amendment for all garden beds, from vegetables to trees and shrubs.
Fafard Garden Manure Blend - this blend of manure and organic matter works great as a soil amendment for vegetable gardens and flower beds.
Fafard Top Soil - this premium top soil is great for adding much needed organic matter to any area of the garden and it is particularly well suited for starting or top dressing lawns.
Coast of Maine Penobscot Blend Compost & Peat - This organic blend of composted salmon and blueberry, along with tiny mussel shell fragments (to aerate the soil) and peat is a great all around amendment for use in any part of the garden.
Coast of Maine Lobster Compost - This blend of lobster shells, compost and peat creates a dark-brown, well drained soil that is great for conditioning gardening beds. It is also perfect for organic gardeners.
For container gardening, we carry the following potting soils:
Fafard Ultra Potting Mix with Extended Feed - this potting soil is enriched with a slow release fertilizer, feeding your plants for 6 months!
Fafard Ultra Container Mix with Extended Food - this potting soil will feed plants for up to 4 months, and also contains water-holding crystals to extend time between watering.
Fafard Natural & Organic Potting Soil - For organic gardening, this soil contains a rich blend of organic matter great for flowers and vegetables.
Coast of Maine Castine Blend Organic Raised Bed Mix - This rich and diverse soil is great for raised beds or containers growing vegetables, herbs and flowers. It is ready to use out of the bag will all sorts of organic matter for some great veggie gardening. Click the link to learn more.
Crocker Blend Grass Seed
Cape Cod is a challenging area to grow a lawn, so early on we decided to blend the best seed 
combinations for you to be successful.
Crocker’s Cape Cod Mix is blended for us, with a higher perennial rye fescue blend and 20% blue grass. Several of the grasses in the mix are endophydic (which means they excrete an enzyme in the crown of the plant that repel insects--bill bugs, chinch bugs, grubs don’t like it).
Pro Tall Fescue mix is fine bladed, good turf quality that is very drought resistant. Mature plants can have roots 4ft deep! This blend is excellent for high traffic areas or athletic use.
Pro Low Maintenance blend is primarily hard fescue or sheep fescue. This will take sun or shade and only grows about 4-6” high, so it needs very little mowing. This makes it a great blend for seasonal properties.

Bulk Material
We carry mulch, loam and manure by the yard which we can load on your truck, or we can deliver it (2 yard minimum, 8 yard maximum per delivery). If you have 20 gallon and 30 gallon containers, we will also fill those up for you, if you don't have a truck or only need a small amount.
Pine Bark Mulch - A fine, dark brown color.
Hemlock Mulch - A lighter, slightly reddish brown color.
Screened Loam - This is off-Cape, clay-based loam, perfect to plant in.
Horse Manure - Local horse manure from a farm that uses wood chips for bedding and high quality oats for feed, no hay or straw, so no weed seeds!
Pottery & Gifts
We carry a wide selection of pottery, from basic terra cotta pots to large ornate pottery. We also carry specialty pots for orchids and African daisies.
There is a lot to discover in our garden shop as a large selection of gift items, gardening decorations and indoor and outdoor home decor items. We are always changing up the shop with new items to discover!
