The nursery construction started in 1975 and opened its doors in the Spring of 1976. The initial business plan originated from a final college business project and laid the foundation for what was to come. From 1976 to 1983, the nursery provided landscaping services in addition to retail nursery sales. However, in 1984, landscaping was dropped in order to concentrate on expanding the nursery facility. As the expansion continued with the building of a barn to house equipment and storage and leasing a growing area, we felt that it was time to get more land to expand our capability to grow even more plants at the quality we desired. In 1987, we purchased an adjacent parcel of land and added two 90’ greenhouses. This made it possible to grow the majority of our annuals and perennials.

The years 1990 and 1991 started the expansion of our retail area with the tearing down of the original small glass greenhouse and adding a large Nexus Greenhouse and expanded Garden Shop. The former garden shop was renovated in 1995 to create office space and an employee break room. Because of all of the demand, our eye was always on how to make things more efficient, shopping more pleasurable and no lines at the checkout! With that in mind we expanded the point of sale system and finally, in 2006-2007 made a large addition resulting in more Garden Shop space with adequate checkout facilities, public bathrooms and better parking. We also expanded the retail greenhouse area to be able to have more plants under cover so shopping could still be done in bad weather. This is the facility that we have today.

From the original business model to where we have come today, we have always wanted to provide you with the highest quality plants and service, to enable you to be successful with your garden and landscape. We have also created beautifully landscaped areas to browse through and make your experience enjoyable. That was our goal in 1975 and it is our goal today.
